The University of Hyderabad started offering Post Graduate Diploma Programs through distance mode since 1994. The various programs are focused on meeting the educational needs of (a) In service personnel looking forward to improve their skills and knowledge required in their own organization. and (b) Fresh graduate intending to improve their chances of employments on successful completion of these programs.

Courses are offered in the fields of Computer Science, Environmental Education and Management, Planning & Project Management, Cyber Laws and Intellectual Property Rights, Library Automation & Networking, Human Rights, Translation Studies in Hindi, Television Production, Telecommunications, Chemical Analysis and Quality Management, Business Ethics, Environmental Economics, Translation Techniques, and Communicative English and Mass Communication.

All post graduate courses which is offered under two Terms and each term is of six months duration. The First Term starts from January and completed by June. Second Term starts from July and completed by December.

University of Hyderabad CDE Contact Programs

The contact programs are conducted during the month of August to September . The contact programs are usually held for a period of 10 days at the University Campus where the student will be offered lectures with eminent experts in the subject.

University of Hyderabad CDE Admission Procedure

Admissions to the Distance Education diploma programs are open to all those who fulfill prescribed qualifications. Admissions are made strictly on the basis of merit. NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION is held for the purpose of admission.

The marks obtained by the applicants in their graduate level examination, in any stream serves as the basis for preparing the merit list for admission all courses. However, additional academic qualifications and professional experience are taken into consideration for all admissions.

The admission announcement in Center for Distance Education, University of Hyderabad (UoH) is released in leading daily newspapers, in October every year.

Completed application forms along with copies of relevant certificates must be sent to the following address on or before the last date prescribed on the admission application form:

  • Application form with 2 Passport size Photo Graph, Demand Draft of amount INR 300.00, drawn in favour of Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad Payable at Hyderabad.
  • Secondary School Certificate (SSC) (date of birth proof)
  • Intermediate/Higher Secondary Education 10+2
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Provisional Certificate, Marks Memos
  • Post-graduate Degree, Provisional Certificate, Marks Memo

University of Hyderabad CDE Eligibility Criteria

Only those students who pay the fees within the stipulated date are treated as admitted. Mere receipt of admission offer letter does not entitle any right to claim admission.

Students who do not furnish full information and proof, by attaching ATTESTED (by a gazetted officer or a person holding equivalent rank) XEROX COPIES of certificates, marks sheets and service certificates (clearly showing the number of years of service and the field of work) about their academic/ professional record are liable to be rejected.
