NIMS Hyderabad Courses

Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad was established in 1980. NIMS is recognized by University Grants Commission and Medical Council of India. Governing Council, Executive Board, Director and other statutory bodies, undertake the supervision of the Institute. The primary objective of the Institute is to create a Centre of Excellence for providing medical care, educational and research facilities of high order in the field of medical science in the existing super specialties and such other super specialties that may develop in future, including continuing Medical Education and Hospital Administration.

The campus spans over an area of over 23 acres. The Institute has 27 Departments, out of which, 14 are super and Broad Specialties and others are Supporting Departments. It offers 8 super speciality courses of DM and M.Ch. under the faculties of Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and CP&T. 6 broad speciality courses of MD, MS and DMRD under the Departments of General Medicine, Pathology, Orthopaedics, Anesthesiology, Radiology and Hospital Administration, are also carried out by the Institute.

B.Sc (NURSING) FOR WOMEN ONLY

  • B. Sc (Nursing)
    Eligibility: Intermediate Examination or its equivalent with optional subjects of Botany, Zoology, Physics & Chemistry securing aggregate of 45% marks in optional subjects. Candidates who passed Intermediate Nursing Vocational Course are also eligible.

    Duration: 4 years

    Entrance Exam:First week of July Admissions: First week of August


BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
    Eligibility: Intermediate Examination or its equivalent with optional subjects of Botany, Zoology, Physics & Chemistry securing aggregate of 45% marks in optional subjects.  Intermediate vocational physiotherapy is also eligible.

    Duration: 4 ½ years (Including 6 months internship)

    Entrance Exam: First week of July

    Admissions: First week of August


MASTER OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

  • Master of Physiotherapy
    Eligibility:
    1. Candidate holding a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy from a recognized University in India or a Foreign University with at least 10 + 2 + 4 years of educational patters and a minimum of 6 months internship.
    2. However, since 4 years course and 6 months Internship was not existing before 1998, candidates who have qualified and completed the internship before 31 December 1998 shall be eligible for this course if they have at least 10 + 2 + 3 years of educational pattern and 6 months of internship.

    Duration: Two years

    Entrance exam: First week of November Admissions: First week of January


MASTER IN HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT

  • Master in Hospital Management
    Eligibility: Bachelor Degree

    Duration: 2 years +(6 months internship) / 20 seats     Entrance

    Exam: First week of August Admissions:First week of September
