Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University wa established in the year 1985. The University is recognized and funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The University is also a member of the Forum of Dravidian Language Culture Universities. The University provides higher studies and research in Telugu language, art, culture, music, architecture, archaeology, literature, religion etc.
